We’re delighted to fund Sara Harper and Beechwood Primary School and Nursery to introduce Headstart Online Reading and GPS Assessments with AI auto-marking. By combining adaptive assessment technology with additional iPads, the project will help teachers quickly identify learning gaps and provide targeted support for Pupil Premium pupils.
Automated analysis will reduce marking time while giving staff clear, data-driven insights into reading, grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Importantly, the additional devices will ensure disadvantaged pupils have equal access to the digital tools that support learning. This innovative approach will enable faster intervention, more personalised teaching, and greater confidence for pupils as they develop vital literacy skills.
By strengthening both assessment and access, the project supports Beechwood’s commitment to equity—ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed in reading, writing, and communication.
