What is the project?

We’re proud to support Matthew Andrews and St Patrick’s RC School (Newport) in launching a Forest School after-school club for Year 4 RADY learners.

How will learners benefit?

This project will give disadvantaged pupils regular access to outdoor learning experiences designed to strengthen wellbeing, resilience, and engagement with learning. Led by a Forest School–trained teacher and supported by the Deputy Headteacher, sessions will create a nurturing environment where pupils can build confidence, curiosity, and motivation. The project will track impact through pupil wellbeing data, attendance, reading progress, and attitudes to learning.

Why was it funded?

By combining research-informed practice with inclusive outdoor education, St Patrick’s RC School is helping remove barriers to learning and ensure disadvantaged pupils have the opportunity to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
