Uniform & Stationery

Uniform Exchanges. are a great way to repurpose used school uniform, helping reduce waste and supporting families with the cost of buying school uniform, prom wear, Sports clothing, bags, shoes and accessories  Caerphilly Uniform Exchange is a fantastic example, you can check them out here.

If there’s not one already in your area, why not start a uniform exchange in your school?

School Drive is a registered charity providing brand new school supplies and equipment (eg, school uniforms, stationery, shoes, sports kit and bags) free of charge to school children aged 4-18 years whose families could not otherwise afford to provide through a lack of means.

Ideas & Free Resources

Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) have really useful free resources for schools including;

Children North East, have lots of free resources available for schools on how to improve the experience of the school day for pupils, from top tips on subjects such as sports day, uniform and fun, to research reports sharing the voices of pupils living in poverty. Visit their dedicated resources hub to learn more.

The meditation and mindfulness app Headspace offers free subscriptions to Primary and Secondary teachers and supporting staff as well as resources for classrooms.

Community Funds

Easy Fundraising is a great way to collect donations for your school to help fund projects.  Invite parents/staff/local community to join easy fundraising and support your school.  When they shop online, part of their total spend will be donated to your school as a thank you for shopping with them.  There are more than 8,000 brands associated with easy fundraising!

Supermarket Community Support Funds are always worth checking out. Many supermarkets also donate fruit and vegetables free to schools via their community support champions!
